Day 8:
Feeling more and more tired and stressed each day, I continue to research with the goal of writing really soon.
Goals today:
finish research on Week of French Cinema 1967
finish research on Week of Soviet Cinema 1967
finish research on Week of Soviet Cinema 1969 (short)
finish research on Week of Soviet Cinema 1970 (short)
I really hope I finish this today from 9-1; then I will only be left with 2 years to look through for Thursday and then I can finally begin writing the rest of this section on Friday. While I am disappointed research is taking so long, you gotta do what you gotta do so you can write, but also I can use this week's researching adventure as a gauge for how long it will take me to get through the rest of the research that is needed and create a realistic timeline/goal schedule for myself.
Yes, I know, it can feel incredible tedious and slow, and frustrating when you're doing a lot of reading and not (yet) producing much writing. But you will, and you're right, it's a necessary first step to writing. It's what generates stuff to say. I find it feels a littel more productive if I'm making notes as I go. A lot of times I can turn those notes into paragraphs later. Hang in there!
